Primal Heart was originally cast by Tommy Hicks at the Shidoni Foundry in Santa Fe, NM. The original plan was to cast a series of five. Shidoni has been able to sell two of them. Cast #1/5 and #2/5 are currently on display in private collections. This piece is Cast #3/5, which is stamped into the piece beside the artists’ signature.

I will be forever grateful to Tommy for assisting me in having the original plaster sculpture cast in bronze. Without him this piece would have surely been lost or destroyed. Unfortunately, in 2023 the Shidoni Foundry closed down after 40+yrs of operation. Without Shidoni to cast the remaining pieces in the series I will be working with a local foundry in Bastrop, TX who will caste them as needed.

Should a buyer choose to purchase this piece a process will be set in motion to create a new one. That will require creating a mold using this piece as the original. The buyer would then be given the choice to have #3/5 delivered once the molding process is complete or to wait for the brand new one to be cast and patinated. This listed price does not include transportation or installation of the sculpture.
